" Henry A. Schroeders Demonstration Home "

The October 8, 1931 edition of the Myrtle Point Herald featured an ad run by the Henry A. Schroeder furniture company inviting the public to come and tour the new fully furnished home. It stated the house was designed by architect Fred Magnuson of Marshfield, based on floor plans submitted to him was by the Schroeders. The outside of the house is 5/8 inch Stucco over metal lath, and a composition tile roof. The front door is a 4x7 Gum wood door, the ceilings are 8' 6" and the front window includes a 5 x 8' plate glass window.

The article states "This house was built by Mr. & Mrs. Schroeder for their permanent home with the idea of trying to influence people to build better and furnish "Better Homes". All local labor where possible was used in construction."

This home was recently listed for sale by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for an undisclosed amount.
