1407 Maple Street
" Edward Bender Home "

Built in 1890 for Judge Edward Bender, one of Myrtle Point's early citizens. Judge Bender, together with William A. Border, platted one of the additions to Myrtle Point. He also was connected with the Hermann building when it was an Opera House and general store. He was also a member of Myrtle Point's first brass band. Later, the home was owned by members of the Kinnicutt family.

Information on the Heritage Homes website was compiled from Reflections of the Past: Myrtle Point, Oregon Historic Buildings, a project of the Myrtle Point Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and the Coos County Logging Museum (circa 1985) and Take a Break in Historic Myrtle Point produced by the Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce (circa 1975) unless otherwise noted.
