" William Lange Home "

Wilhelm Fredrich Lange and his wife Mathilde came to the Coquille Valley from the Saxony area of Germany in the late 1890's. He bought farmland just to the north and east of the bridge that heads north out of Myrtle Point and was a dairy farmer. Wilhelm built the house in town for Mathilde about 1905 and from the 1950's until about 1980 Florence Evans lived there. A descendent of Mathilde's only son still lives in the community in Broadbent.
