1st & Spruce Street
" Lehnherr Park "

Originally platted as the town square, this block was one of the first nine blocks of the town given to the just formed city of Myrtle Point by Christian Lehnherr. Fire insurance maps for 1907 show that there was a band stand/gazebo located in the middle of the park that remained until at least 1920. In the 1960's it held a playground with swings and a tall slide. Later, a tennis court was added to the grounds. In 1998? the playground and tennis court were removed and the skateboard park was built.

Information on the Heritage Homes website was compiled from Reflections of the Past: Myrtle Point, Oregon Historic Buildings, a project of the Myrtle Point Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and the Coos County Logging Museum (circa 1985) and Take a Break in Historic Myrtle Point produced by the Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce (circa 1975) unless otherwise noted.
